After 20 years, one of our longest serving employees has called time on her career at Sansaw.
Jenny Taylerson has been an ever-present in the office since 1997 and we thought it would be fitting to share this letter she sent to staff in her final weeks.
I’m sure those of you who know Jenny will join us in wishing her the best for the future.
“As many of you know, this Summer I have been handing over my roles in the Sansaw Estate Office; primarily the accounts to Elisha Thomas.
Some of you may remember that I first came to the Estate Office in 1997 to move the manual accounting records to a computer accounting package. How things have moved on since then. In those days Robin and I shared the then Hardwicke Estate Office, which was located at the rear of Black Birches, and I have many happy memories of sharing the building with members of Carter Jonas and walking my much loved first dog, Nicky, down the driveways and along Merry Lane. We were soon joined by my second springer spaniel, Rommel, who was born down Merry Lane!
Neil Titley ran the Estate Yard and all the maintenance team members who were here when I started are still on board now (albeit on reduced hours) so in reality I am one of the first to go!
Every summer we decamped from the office to the park to set up and run the three-day Sansaw International Horse Trials We were invariably blessed by good weather, with the memorable exception of hosting the Countryside Alliance drinks party in our wellies. It was reminiscent of being on exercise – great team spirit and no obstacle insurmountable.
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been given a job which enabled me to support myself and which has sustained me through the years; to have worked for a family that let me own my job (and the Estate!); feel blessed to have worked with the wonderful team members, both in house and out of house, who I now consider to be my friends.
The Estate has played a large part in my last 20 years and I hold all the people on the Estate very dear.
I offer everyone my good wishes and thanks for my time at Sansaw.
