July signals the end of the breeding period and the bulls which we brought in will return to their farms.

Hot weather causes a variety of problems but essentially the welfare of the cows is our top priority. We try and minimise the amount of walking they do when the temperatures soar – ensuring they have plenty of water and, if necessary, move milking later in the afternoon, back from 2pm to 5pm.

The last six months have been hectic so July is also a good time for staff to take a break and for others to carry out general farm maintenance.
