Sculpture Walk at Sansaw Hall Raises over £13k for Local Charity HAJMT

It was over a year ago when Callaghan’s of Shrewsbury approached us with the idea of displaying their collection of Sculpture within the private gardens at Sansaw Hall. Exhibiting a collection of different sizes, styles and shapes of contemporary bronzes within the gardens would create an exciting format taking these inspiring artworks out of the gallery space and into the open. It was agreed that the ticketed event would be held in aid of a local charity close to Asa Thompsons heart, as a founding trustee of, The Henry Angell-James Memorial Trust. A great deal of planning and organisation, not to mention getting the private gardens into presentable shape, was undertaken by all parties involved.
“Opening the private gardens for Callaghan’s event was an exciting opportunity not only to raise important funds for HAJMT but also to see some incredible sculptures and artworks placed within a natural environment. ” Asa Thompson, Sansaw
Guests enjoyed walking through the gardens discovering the art following Callaghan’s carefully curated trail, the fabulous food by Wild Kitchen, drinks as well as tunes by jazz band The Fraggle Brothers a real sensory experience and the gardens really came alive. Callaghan’s vision certainly proved a success and we are all delighted with the total raised for The Henry Angell-James Memorial Trust through ticket sales, donations from a percentage of the art sold on the day and a prize draw.
“Thank you goes to all the volunteers who helped on the day, as well as members of the Sansaw Estate team who took hours out of their work days to help with the set up and logistics.”
