It’s not the strongest of the species that survives ….

Another successful Property Mark Regional Conference, where we came away agreeing that the dedicated information and learning we had is so important. Now it’s time to digest, report back and implement – shall we get AI to put the to do list together?

It was the Property Mark Regional Conference in Birmingham this month. Always a key event to attend, not only to be kept up to date with industry changes but to also hear from expert speakers across a range of disciplines.

  • Of course, AI was high up on the agenda. The immediate impact in relation to how customers are utilising AI search and the often inaccuracy in the results was discussed. A live demonstration was given which flagged this point. The discussion moved onto how tenants are also now using AI to answer questions relating to their tenancies – again, results are often not accurate, but it is more worrying that the trust in AI is appearing greater than that given to a qualified professional.
  • Danielle Nash spoke about a generational workforce where as many as four generations can be seen working alongside one another. An emphasis on the importance of each generation learning from the other, sharing knowledge and experience was discussed.
  • Alex Jeffery, Partner at Bright Solicitors updated us on lettings changes. He covered, in detail, the Renters’ Rights Act, including the Section 13 process. Also presenting on the second phase of the Renters Rights Act which includes the roll out of the Landlords database starting with West Midlands in December 2026.
