Sansaw Estate Summer Update 2025

As summer settles gently over the Shropshire countryside, the Sansaw Estate is experiencing a particularly productive and promising season. Favourable weather conditions with warm, consistent sunshine have contributed to a thriving landscape and notably eased the demands of our cattle breeding season, although some rain would be welcome! Having enjoyed a smooth calving period, The Dairy Team continue to deliver excellent calf vitality and improved herd health overall, a testament to both the conditions and the dedicated care of the team.

This season also marks a significant milestone in the Estate’s ongoing programme of restoration and development. Building works on the historic Hardwicke Farmhouse have now been completed. The carefully managed project, aimed at preserving the character and charm of the property while upgrading it for modern living, has brought the farmhouse back to life. The result is a sympathetic blend of heritage architecture and contemporary comfort — a fitting reflection of Sansaw’s values.

Elsewhere on the estate, we are exploring housing development opportunities in Clive and Hadnall.  We will seek to retain the integrity and unique rural character of the villages, whilst ensuring the development meets future community needs. These may include modest housing or mixed-use spaces that support local life and economic activity. Any development will be shaped by engagement with the community and a deep respect for the landscape and heritage of the area.

Overall, the 2025 summer at Sansaw feels quietly optimistic. With nature in harmony and projects progressing well, the Estate continues its steady path forward — rooted in tradition, but always looking to the future.
